Project Overview
The Coffee No: 32 Inventory Management App is tailored for internal use by the staff of Coffee No: 32, a local coffee shop. It enables staff members to seamlessly add, review, and track inventory items in real-time. Additionally, the app provides features such as stock replenishment suggestions and data transfer capabilities through import and export functionalities. The goal is to streamline operations and enhance efficiency by providing an intuitive and user-friendly solution for inventory management within the business.
My Contributions
My Contributions
As the sole designer of this project, I led all aspects of the design process from conception to implementation. My responsibilities included conceptualizing, creating wireframes and prototypes, and refining the user interface based on iterative study. While I collaborated with various artificial intelligences and received feedback from colleagues, I independently crafted the final design solution.

Project Kickoff
I set out to design an inventory management app for Coffee No:32 to address the challenges they face in effectively managing their inventory and facilitating seamless data transfer between various devices. The motivation behind this project stems from the need to optimize stock levels and streamline data management processes for Coffee No:32, thereby improving overall operational efficiency and enhancing profitability. These challenges are particularly complex because of the intricacies involved in managing inventory across different platforms and ensuring smooth data synchronization.
The Design Journey
As I embarked on the design process, I engaged in informal discussions with the staff of my local coffee shop to gain insights into their daily inventory management challenges. These conversations provided invaluable context and guided the development of user personas. Using artificial intelligence, I crafted two personas representing local coffee shop staff, which allowed for a deeper understanding of their specific needs and pain points. With these insights, I planned a strategic approach to tackle the challenges of inventory management.
My user research provided valuable insights into the personas' needs and preferences. Staff needed a simple app to track inventory efficiently, restock products on time, and get detailed product info. They also emphasized the importance of easy data transfer, such as importing and exporting inventory data. These findings guided our design decisions and shaped the project.
With a clear understanding of user needs and goals, I moved to the design phase, starting with wireframing. This helped turn research insights into actual design solutions, prioritizing simplicity and usability to refine the app's interface and streamline data entry processes. The seamless integration of user-centric design principles culminated in the creation of an effective inventory management app tailored to the needs of Coffee No:32.
Project Wrap-Up
The inventory management app streamlined the inventory tracking process for Coffee No:32 staff, resulting in a reduction in the time required to manage inventory tasks. Additionally, the implementation of seamless data transfer functionalities significantly reduced manual data entry errors and facilitated efficient data synchronization across various devices.
Throughout the project, I navigated the challenge of balancing user needs with technical constraints, prioritizing simplicity and usability. Collaboration and effective communication were key in overcoming this challenge and achieving our design goals.
The success of this project underscores the importance of user-centric design principles in addressing complex business challenges. Since this project is a fictional design exercise created for the purpose of this case study, there are no plans for further development beyond its current state.
